You may ask yourself “what can I give my dog for arthritis?”, or “is there natural pain relief for dogs?”, and “what can slow down cancer in my dog?”.

Cancer:

Cancer is a terrible disease, and is the leading cause of death in dogs; one in three dogs will develop cancer.  Anecdotally and from laboratory research, Turmeric Curcumin has been shown to reduce the growth of cancer cells, and may even prevent the growth of cancer, though further research is required to confirm this (Click here to go to cancerresearchuk.org Turmeric page).    Turmeric is an amazing substance!

Cancer Research UK admits that more research is needed, but that results of laboratory tests showing the efficacy of Turmeric Curcumin in slowing and killing cancer cells are promising.

Absorption of Turmeric into the body can be difficult, but BioPerine (a component of black pepper, added to these Turmeric Curcumin tablets) has been shown to greatly improve this.

You should tell your vet that your dog is taking Turmeric Curcumin.

Arthritis:

Dog arthritis symptoms include stiff joints, a reluctance to run or jump, general lethargy or unusual grumpiness, because of pain.  This great product could be the best joint supplement available for your dog!  Always consult your vet if you have worries about your dog’s health.

As a component of Turmeric, Curcuminoid has been shown to be a potent antioxidant and pain killer for dogs; this is an effective treatment for stiffness symptoms in people too.

Anecdotally, Turmeric for dogs is an effective natural pain killer for dogs and an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of arthritis; give with food at the recommended dose to enable full digestion of the supplement.

Turmeric Curcumin history:

Turmeric is a spice of the ginger family which has been appreciated by us for thousands of years because of it’s broad-reaching health benefits.  It’s as a consequence of Turmeric being an antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory spice that it is valued so highly.

Ingredients and dosing:

Turmeric Curcumin also includes the black pepper extract BioPerine because this increases the bio-availability (ease of absorption) of Curcumin.   A full capsule may not be needed for your dog because of their small size – if this is the case sprinkle part doses of the Turmeric on your dog’s food.   Otherwise give it as a whole capsule as recommended for use as a pain killer for dogs.

Increase the Turmeric Curcumin dose slowly over a period of one to two weeks from a starting point that is 3-5 times smaller than the final recommended dose.  Increase your dog’s dose steadily over one to two weeks; this then reduces the risk of any digestive upsets and other potential side-effects.   Effects may not be noticed until after 4 weeks or so – it’s a gradual process.

Recommended final doses:

Dogs up to 10Kg: 1 capsule every other day with dog food

Dog 10-20Kg: 1 Turmeric for dogs capsule daily with dog food

Dogs 20-40Kg: 2 capsules daily with dog food

Dog over 40Kg: 1 capsule per 20Kg, daily with dog food
