Scimitar GTE crash pad. A specially designed replacement (also known as a dashboard top-panel or dash top) to replace the vinyl-covered foam originals which seem to curl and crack – probably all of them by now on the SE5a!
This is not a copy of the original Scimitar GTE crash pad but it fits nicely in the original’s place. I make these to order.
Colour is light & dark Browns, black or any RAL colour (may incur extra charge). Uses an ultra-tough satin Raptor lightly-textured finish; Terra Brown matches my car’s tan-interior now that the vinyl has aged! I can use any RAL colour but matching to existing colours will need a colour sample from you. For a colour selection not listed in the options, please select ‘RAL colour matched’ option.
See photo (actually of dashboards) for examples of textured finishes in Fawn Brown (lighter shade) and Terra Brown (darker shade).
Glossy finish available on special request only – I don’t recommended this unless it is going to be covered as it is quite reflective in the windscreen.

Fitting the Scimitar GTE SE5a GRP Crashpad:
(these instructions – with photos – are supplied with each order)
The steering wheel and old vinyl-covered crashpad with all foam needs to be removed to fit the new crashpad.
The front edges of the crashpad then need to be tucked just under the windscreen rubber; the crashpad ‘ears’ at either side are pulled/flexed down to meet the shapes of the glovebox and dashboard. The crashpad is quite flexible and springy.
With the crashpad ‘ear’ still pulled down, a pilot-hole suitable for the screw you are using (probably 2.5mm will work fine) is then drilled through the existing clearance screw-hole in each ‘ear’ outer side, into the sub-structure of the car. One screw per side can then the screwed through the ‘ear’’ & into the pilot-hole to secure the crashpad, still pulling down each end of the crashpad to suit the dashboard/glove-box shapes.
